WBC 주석과 함께 볼 수 있도록 기획된 시리즈로서, WBC 저자들이 자신이 주석한 책의 주요 주제들을 다룸으로써 일관성과 신뢰도를 높인 시리즈.

성경의 주요 주제 연구뿐만 아니라 그러한 주제들의 실천적 함의까지 살핌으로써 성경의 큰 그림을 그리고 설교나 가르침 및 개인적 적용 등 구체적인 실천에 연결할 수 있도록 도우려 했다.

개인적 적용이나 현장에 연결시키려는 기존의 시도들이 학문적 시도보다는 대중적인 측면에서 머무르기 쉬웠던 점을 감안하면, 주석의 저자들이 성경 주제를 살펴 그러한 실천적 필요를 채우는 데까지 이르게 기획된 점은 이 시리즈만의 큰 장점이 되겠다.
물론 주석 전권에 해당하는 주제 연구 시리즈였으면 좋았겠지만 그 기획이 처음부터 진행됐어도 실현되는 건 현실적으로 어렵다는 점을 감안하면 이 열다섯 권만으로도 귀한 자료를 건지는 기쁨을 느낄 수 있지 않을까 한다. BK
